|In 2004 the net gold and foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) grew by 37.3% (or USD2 587.9) – from USD6.937 mln to USD9.525 mln, according to NBU’s statement.|
Based on the National Bank’s information, the share of monetary gold in the reserve equaled USD222.3 mln (2.33% of the total amount), cash foreign currency – USD147.4 mln (1.55%), other foreign currency reserves amounted to USD9 153.8 mln (96.1%).
NBU does not reveal the net international reserve movements in 2004 (net reserves do not include obligations of Ukraine to IMF).
In 2003 NBU’s gold and foreign exchange reserves increased by 57.7%, or by USD2.538 mln – from USD4.399mln to USD6.937 mln.
Net international reserves of the bank in 2003 grew by 97.8% (USD2.526mln), from USD2.582 to USD5.108 mln.
