|China's finance minister pledged to extend active fiscal policies aimed at countering the global economic slowdown into 2010, adding that exiting from these policies "too early" could damage the economy.|
At a policy-setting meeting on Sunday, Chinese Finance Minister Xie Xuren said the country's active fiscal policies in 2010 would focus on expanding domestic consumer demand, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
Data released on Sunday showed China recorded a 17.7% year-on-year jump in exports in December, well above a forecast for 4.0% growth.
