Nizhniy Novgorod Region is the large-scale industrial center with high portion of processing industry, powerful scientific, technical and educational potential. Nizhniy Novgorod is the administrative center of Privolzhskiy federal District and the center of Privolzhskaya area fair activity. Among the shares of regional gross products of Russian Federation provinces in the Internal Gross Product of Russia Region of Nizhniy Novgorod takes the 11-th place. The leading field of industry is mechanical engineering. 58.5% of Russian automobile wagon production (1-st place in Russian Federation), around 70% of busses (1-st place), over 6% of cars (3-d place) accounts for a part of Region. Nizhniy Novgorod Region is the leader in Russian special function automobile technics production – caterpillar tractors, off-highway cargo-and-passenger automobiles, minibuses. Nizhniy Novgorod Region is at the intersection of transport corridors from north to south and from west to east. In the location of Nizhniy Novgorod there are international airport, large railway freight terminal, fluvial port, servicing “river-sea” ships.
