Short-term bonds
Short-term bonds are bonds with a maturity of less than 1 year. As a rule, they are discounted.
Pros
• they have a lower risk compared to medium-term and long-term bonds, are less sensitive to changes in interest rates.
Cons
• the yield on short-term bonds is lower than on ordinary bonds;
Examples of such securities are State short-term bonds (GKOs), which were issued by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation in the 1990s. Now the Russian market of short-term bonds is mainly represented by corporate issuers. The list of short-term bonds can be found on the Cbonds website by selecting "short-term" in the classifier
